About Us
Who is Atlanta Ice Theatre?
Atlanta Ice Theatre is Georgia’s first and only competitive Theatre on Ice team, bringing together skaters of all ages and skill levels to tell stories on ice through movement, music, and choreography. Founded in 2016 and based at the Duluth Ice Forum, we create performances that blend the artistry of dance and theater with the athleticism of figure skating.
Our mission is to provide a supportive and safe environment where skaters can grow both technically and artistically, while building community, creativity, and confidence. With a culture rooted in positivity and commitment, we strive to make each performance not only a competition, but a chance to inspire and connect with audiences.
What is Theatre on Ice?
Theatre On Ice is a form of competitive figure skating that combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theatre and dance. The skaters participate in 2 programs, the CE and the Freeskate.
Choreographic Exercise: A shorter piece designed around specific required elements (such as gestures, formations, or movement qualities). This highlights a team’s technical precision, creativity, and interpretation of a defined theme.
Free Skate: A longer program that allows full artistic freedom. Teams develop an original story or concept, blending complex choreography, formations, and skating skills into a cohesive theatrical performance.
What have we done recently?
Atlanta Ice Theatre has proudly represented Georgia on both national and international stages.

They have been selected again for the 2nd time to represent the USA at the 2026 Adult Gold Cup.
Our Intermediate and Open teams achieved record high, 5th place finishes at Nationals in 2024. The Open team also received an award for “Best Original Work.” At the 2025 Nationals, the Novice team received 5th place.
